Jonathan Atwater, Chief Administrative Officer

Jonathan Atwater, Ph.D. is the Treasurer and Chief Administrative Officer of the Courage Foundation. He holds a doctorate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has worked as a research scientist at the Salk Institute for Biological Sciences. Dr. Atwater has also founded and operated two successful microbreweries and has consulted on several others. Dr. Atwater was a full professor of Biology for ten years before suffering a spinal cord injury which resulted in quadriplegia. Since his accident, he has been working in administrative management for Mark Divine’s Unbeatable Inc. Dr. Atwater has left his former position with Unbeatable Inc. to set-up and direct operations of the Courage Foundation. His role is administration, management, program development, fundraising, and grant writing.
